My name is Laura Winton and I am a Co-opted Governor and currently hold the post of Chair of Governors.
Clipstone Brook is a thriving school that offers your child an excellent start in their educational journey. We have achieved good academic standards and our dedicated hard-working staff are committed to ensuring each and every pupil is given the opportunity to fulfil their potential. Our Early Years learning provides the essential foundation as your child begins their educational journey and we believe there is no better start than at our School.
The Governing Body is comprised of a group of like-minded people whose sole aim is to help provide our excellent school with a great education opportunity in a safe healthy environment where children can learn. We meet as a Full Governing Body each term and a SDP committee meeting where we overlook the running of the school and monitor the School Development Plan to assist the Headteacher in improving the children’s education and well-being.
Our school is currently rated Good by Ofsted after a one-day short inspection in October 2018. They said that our school has a robust safeguarding provision and that the governance of the school is good. I feel privileged to work with a team of like-minded people and continue to support Mrs Reay and all the staff and pupils.
Should you like to become a governor at the school I can assure you that it is a very rewarding role. When a vacancy arises for a Parent Governor a notice will be put in the Newsletter and if you are interested in joining us you would be made very welcome. If you require more information regarding the role of a governor please contact the office where they will pass your request to the Governing Body who will be happy to speak to you.
Our Governing Body members attend school events to support the pupils and staff in a variety of events and are always available to speak to any parent/carer at their convenience.
