Clipstone Brook Association
Welcome to the Clipstone Brook Association.
All our parents and carers are automatically members of our parent association known as the C.B.A.
The C.B.A. was founded to raise funds for the benefit of all our children and brings together children, staff and parents in a social environment. Throughout the year, events and gatherings are organised by the C.B.A. committee with the aim of fostering friendly relations amongst parents and between parents and the school.
How do we raise money?
You can register online onto www.easyfundraising.org.uk and connect to Clipstone Brook Association (or use the full link at the bottom of this page). The C.B.A. benefits from any earnings made from your online sales. This doesn't cost you anything but the school benefits from any commission.
You can also register online to Amazon Smile. Amazon will donate a percentage to the CBA without costing you anything.
In July, we hold the Summer Fair and a Christmas Fair in December. We also organise several discos during the year and various other events for children and parents. We are always looking for new fundraising ideas so please let us know if you have any thoughts. We hope you will come to these events, meet up, join in, but most of all enjoy yourselves.
How we spend the money we raise - very quickly!
Once money is raised from events the funds are banked straight away. It is at our C.B.A. Committee Meetings, that decisions on how to spend the money are taken. Usually teachers will have a ‘shopping list’ of items that the school would like to purchase. Sometimes it will be for resources to improve a particular area of the curriculum or school environment, such as in the PA system, Trim Trail, Living Willow, School Playground Equipment and the Poly Tunnel. At other times it will be to subsidise school trips, and for Theatre groups to visit the school. In the main the C.B.A. funds are for the ‘extras’ not provided by the school budget, that make our children’s learning experiences so much more fulfilling and exciting!
How we get information to you?
We send out a Newsletter which gives details of events and updates as well as requests for help when we are planning large events. Following events, we will let you know how much was raised, and if we can, we tell you then what the money will be spent on.
How can you get involved?
Some of you may wish to get involved at committee level and that would be great - the more the merrier. We are always keen to have parents / carers who want to get involved and will welcome you with open arms.
Joing the committee may not be you but we would be delighted with your help before events, or at other times during the year – it really is a case of ‘many hands make light work’. It doesn’t matter if you can’t help on a regular basis, or even if you can’t come into school. There are always little jobs that can be done from home if you have half an hour to spare e.g. Wrapping gifts, preparing raffle tickets etc. We really couldn’t achieve what we do without the unseen ‘army of help’ that exists in school.
We meet a number of times a year to plan events. There are some teacher delegates on the committee which helps us stay in touch with the staff. The Head often attends our meetings; which provides invaluable support for us and also ensures we are acting in the school's best interest. It is not all hard work - we have a lot of fun too!
Elections for the Committee take place at our A.G.M. which is usually held in September however, we can co-opt extra members throughout the year. If you are interested please get in touch.
Can you help?
Whether you can spare half an hour or help at a whole event we would love to have you!
What we need mostly are volunteers to assist at various events.
Please help us by giving half an hour; if everyone does we will have things covered in no time!
