During the summer term, children in year 2, are assessed against the criteria of the Statutory Assessment Tests (SATs). These tests mark the end of Key Stage 1 and are designed to show what your child has learned and retained from Reading, Writing, Maths and Science.
Assessments at the end of year 2 are based on teacher judgements against national criteria. The SATs tests provide additional evidence to support the judgement of the teacher. They show the standard the children are working at. These results are reported to County at the end of June and used by the DoE to compare schools performance.
