Welcome,

My name is Angela Luker and I am a Community Governor and currently hold the post of Chair of Governors.

Clipstone Brook is a thriving school that offers your child an excellent start to their education. We achieve good academic standards and our dedicated, hard working staff are committed to ensuring each pupil is given the opportunity to fulfill their potential. Early years learning provides the essential foundations as your child begins their long educational journey and we believe there is no better start than at our school.

Our Governing Body is a group of like-minded people whose sole aim is to help provide an excellent school with great education and a safe healthy environment for the children to come and learn in.

We are made up of people from the Community, Local Authority, Parents and Staff and we meet as Full Governing body each term. From this, we form three sub committees who assist the Headteacher in improving the children’s education and well-being.

The three sub Committees are:

·         Curriculum and Standards focus on the learning aspects of school life and the progress of the pupils.

·         Finance and Personnel oversee the management of the school finances to ensure that it is spent following government guidelines resulting in  improving the educational standards in the school.

·         Premises and Health & Safety are responsible to ensure that the school is well maintained for the safety of all the Children, Teachers and Visitors.

I am very proud that during our last Ofsted inspection we were again deemed to be a ‘Good' School. They said that the Governance of the school is good and that we are well aware of our duties to help the school.  I feel privileged to work with a team of like-minded people and continue to support Mrs Hardy and all the staff and pupils.

Becoming a Governor is very rewarding. If you are interested in joining us you will be made very welcome. There are opportunities for parents and carers to become governors and when a vacancy arises a letter is sent out from the school inviting anyone interested to apply. I hope that you will consider joining our Governing Body when a vacancy is available and should you need any more information please do not hesitate in contacting the school. Any of our governors will be only to happy to tell you about our role and explain what we do to help the school.

Our Governing body look forward to meeting you and would make you very welcome should you decide that you would like to join us.

Kind regards

Angela Luker
